2006 Blog'D Award - Best Role-Playing Game Supplement

Monte Cook's Ptolus: City by the Spire can hardly be called a "supplement;" it's a record-breaking, full-color, near-700-page hardcover tome. Designed for the Dungeons & Dragons game system, Ptolus is a single city, and author/game-designer Monte Cook shares his homebrew campaign world with the masses. This is the gameworld Cook used to help co-create and gametest the 3rd edition of Dungeons & Dragons, and the history of the city (and the world) is everpresent throughout the gametext. A lot of care and even more work went into this living, breathing city.
